I first began teaching private music lessons in high school when I taught my neighbors' children. I continued teaching through my undergraduate degree and loved it so much that I decided to make it a career and am now getting my advanced certificate in vocal pedagogy to further my knowledge and be the best voice teacher I can be. I have experience teaching all levels and genres and change my teaching to what is best suited for the learner. With piano students I enjoy using John Thompson and Alfred methods for beginners and I choose different songs as students get more experience. For voice students I use simple songs to develop their vocal technique. Through effective warmups and reading, students will develop musicianship skills. She has portrayed many Mozart heroines, including Pamina, Susanna, Despina and Mlle. Silberklang. Other recent roles performed include Dominick Argentos Postcard from Morocco (Lady with a Hand Mirror), Candide (Cunegonde), Sweeney Todd (Johanna), and HMS Pinafore (Josephine). Her recent concert appearances include the title role in Debussys La Damoiselle lue, and soprano soloist in Handels Judas Maccabaeus with the Queens College Choral Society. I'm an experienced singer and musician with a large background in performing, music theory, and writing music. I studied piano for 12 years and have been singing my whole life. I have studied musical theater, opera, classical, and pop music over the years. I've performed in many musicals, operas, and cabaret shows throughout high school and college, and have been in a number of pop/rock bands from 2010 to the present. Read More
