My goal is to build music enthusiasts with a foundation that can span a lifetime. I began teaching one on one lessons with the vision of creating a supportive teaching space where students can work toward finding their inner voice and developing their musical expression. My piano and voice students range greatly in age, experience and their motivations to learn including natural born performers, shy beginners, recreational and professional musicians. I also coach professional public speakers on projection of voice. In all cases, I caringly create goal-oriented curriculums, tailored specifically to each student’s learning objectives. My centered and whole approach to singing, speaking and playing allows my students to organically find their own voice through supported breath and air flow. I nurture each student’s ability to self-express while developing technical skill, music theory and musicality. Read More

Nothing is more important than the student enjoying themselves. I want to encourage my students' passion for music by allowing them to learn at their own pace. I believe in encouragement and positive reinforcement, I will never discourage a student to study music. Music is for everyone and should never be considered out of reach for anyone. We will explore the music that the student is passionate about and I will help them learn it so that they can perform the piece to the top of their ability. Read More

I enjoy sharing my love for music with my students. Over the years, I have traveled to different parts of the world performing and participating in a variety of activities. For me, music is not just a career, it's my life. It is a form of de-stressing, a moment away from the busy city life. When I teach, I like to share those same ideas with my students so that they may understand, that although there is discipline and responsibility involved in learning an instrument, the principal goal is to enjoy the process and the results. I am someone who believes in going all in so I have only been teaching full time since the pandemic started and part time for 2 years. It has been refreshing to go back to the basics for my beginners and help develop unique goals and repertoire for each student I have worked with. Read More

All students in my music program are introduced to the Quality Music Instruction Curriculum. The books in this curriculum, allow each student to advance at his/her own pace while maintaining consistent progress. In addition to the Quality Music Instruction Curriculum, lessons are supplemented with the Bastien series. I lay the foundation for music by teaching all of the necessary rudiments of music such as scales, fingering, chord structures and then I incorporate music that's appealing to the students. Read More

During the first lesson, I have a short discussion with the student to see what their goals are. I also ask what about music interests them. I then ask them to perform anything of their choice to assess their ability level (if applicable). After that, I tell them what immediately needs to be addressed and how this will work with their longterm goal. Then, based on their progress, we set benchmark goals that are adjusted according to their pace. Read More
