My style is very interactive in not teaching the students, but demonstrating what are the proper ways to approach different praticing techniques and repertoire selections. With my vocal lessons I have students do proper warm-up techniques and various scales before we begin working on vocal selections.  Afterwards I use repetition with the repertoire in order to help the students with skills that are needed to perform any particular piece including intonation, diction, and breathing. I love tailoring each lesson to each individual student I teach. It is important to me that my students are interested in the material that they are learning. I enjoy helping my students reach their musical goals by selecting repertoires that appeal to them while also helping to address and resolve their technical deficiencies. For my beginning piano students, I typically start with Faber's Piano Adventures. For young singers, I use the Kodaly Method as a way of developing musical skills and teaching musical concepts. I ask my students what their goal is with singing and if they want to do it professionally. Then I do vocal exercises to find out which voice my student has whether its soprano, mezzo-soprano or altos. Once I know what type of voice my student has, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire from opera, musical theatre or pop. At 18, I was hired by Wurlitzer to teach piano lessons to children in their homes where a piano had been rented. If the family bought the piano at the end of the term, I received a commission. After teaching many piano lessons I also sold two pianos. At NYU, I joined a dance company that performed lively dances at elementary schools, where they had me singing a call and response song with our young audiences. Read More

I like to teach lessons that are fun and engaging. It is important to me that my students feel relaxed and comfortable with expressing themselves musically. I beginning with yoga, stretching and deep breathing. Breathing is the most important, so I like to teach my students how to breathe organically and free from stress in their body. I have been giving private voice lessons informally to my friends and family for over 5 years. In addition to those voice lessons, I was also president of my college a cappella group, in which I would get the opportunity to fill in for our music director and run rehearsals.
