I like students to keep a practice notebook which we fill out during the lesson. Rather than being required to practice for a set number of minutes per day, we instead keep track of how many times an exercise or song is practiced. Then I move on to songs or arias (classical or pop), adjusting good vowels and body tensions to improve resonance and efficiency in singing.
