When arrived to USA, I had my private studio in Chicago, where I lived for ten years. When I moved to Arizona, I continued to do what I love. I began teaching private lessons during my summers off from college, just a few students at a time.  Since beginning my teaching career, my focus has shifted slightly to group piano classes, while still teaching privately after school.  I have been a student of private instruction since the age of three, and my experiences in my private lessons have shaped the way I structure my own lessons for students.  I firmly believe that my students need to not only study solo repertoire, but also that they spend some time every week focusing on technical exercises to solidify their musical foundation. Breathing gives life to singing, and learning the correct way to breathe takes much time and practice. I give them warm ups and drills to practice at home to improve their breathing and other techniques. I will either let the student choose what songs they would like to work on or give them suggestions, depending on their preferences and needs. As we go, I encourage and help the student apply what we learn in warm ups and technique exercises to how they sing the song we're currently working on. Read More

After graduating college, I began adding vocal training to my studio. I have directed numerous choirs over the years and love choral, musical theatre, and jazz music. I encourage healthy consistent practice for piano and/or voice. I also relish the student's input when choosing literature. If a student does not like the music, I have found they will not practice. I just recently moved to the Greater Phoenix Area. I have a very strong passion for singing and bringing music to others. I have three degrees in opera, but I have worked professionally singing everything from standard ballads to gospel songs. Performing all over the world has given me the opportunity to sing and learn things about other cultures that I would otherwise never have known about. My most recent accomplishment was singing the leading role of Hoffman in the french opera Les contes d'hoffman in Perieuguex France in the summer of 2012. Read More

Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
