My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lesson when I graduated. I have been consistently involved in teaching students, both in my home studio as private instructor and as a part of the program Learning On Stage in which I perform and share different Latin-American music styles to teach students from high school and middle school. I encourage my students to regularly practice and to a set schedule because I think thats the key to progress, which leads to gaining passion for the instrument. Read More

My goal is to foster a love of music through mastery, excellence and fun! I never want lessons to feel like something that has to be done, but rather, something to look forward to. I accomplish this by incorporating the interests of each student and including time in each lesson to improvise, create, or learn music they are interested in. I tailor my instruction to each student and keep track of progress so we know how to proceed. Read More

I consider the voice the most interesting instrument, considering how unique every voice is. It is a "living instrument", strongly influenced by so many physical, emotional and psychological factors. In my classes I love to help students exploring their voice beyond the simple concept of learning a melody and repeating it, showing them how to use their instrument at its full potential of musical expression. I like to teach the technique together with the interpretation, going through every musical style. Read More

This has given my students great success. I have found that once they connect to their breath, they connect to themselves and their vocal mechanisms more effectively. After the breathing exercises, I work on vocal technical exercises for the first half of the lesson. During this time, I teach my students about vocal health, vocal agility, pitch, vocal strength, expanding their ranges, and much more. I like incorporating visuals and movement to help the students kinesthetically connect to a concept. Read More

As Shinichi Suzuki said, musical harmony breeds social harmony; to learn and make music together helps us all. For this I have grown the string and choral programs in Elmhurst's 51st Avenue Academy; taught violin, viola, and chamber music at the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music; led the Stony Brook Pre-College chamber music program; taught strings and chorus in Kiev, Ukraine; taught graduate education courses at Touro College online; and enjoy teaching music at NJ's Calderone School. I majored in musical theater in college at SUNY Fredonia, where I studied voice extensively. I also love singing country, jazz and everything in between. I started my teaching journey in college, teaching children at my community theater camp for the summers. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in NYC in off-Broadway as well as with choirs, performing at Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center. I currently reside in Manhattan and perform regularly with my wedding trio that performs all types of music for weddings and events. Read More

However, many of my students work in the pop realm. I apply a classical vocal methodology to pop technique so that students can make active vocal decisions in a stylized environment based on genre. My piano lessons are structured similarly starting with warmups/exercises depending on the student's skill level and technique we are learning. This can include different things like playing scales, or other finger exercises to develop dexterity in technique. Read More
