For beginning guitar I start out with Chris Parkening: classical guitar book...learning finguring styles, rudiments, and notes. I'm a singer/songwriter first, and foremost. My passion for music leads to an enthusiasm to teach. I've been in bands since I was in Jr. High. My certification is as an Indie Artist from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. I specialize in teaching songwriting, and creative playing. I've been playing solo since 2008, and have since started learning drums, bass, as well as the recording process. I know that my lessons will provide value, and hopefully inspiration as well. For that, I pull from Music in Theory and Practice Volume 1 by Bruce Benward and Marilyn Saker. Read More

Together with my students, we discover a wide range of repertoire, from Mozart, Bach, Schumann, and Prokofiev to classics of Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Pop, Rock and other genres. I also equip students with the practical skills of sight reading, accompaniment styles, transposition and improvisation so they can take their creativity and love of music in many directions. But my goal is to do more than teach piano. I help students become problem solvers and independent learners, as they find their own artistic voices. Read More

I love to see my students realize their growth as they work on their singing. The way their faces light up or the way they grow an extra inch with pride simply fills me with joy. I tailor each of my lessons around the student that I am teaching because no two voices are alike. I look for their strengths and help them showcase those and I discover their weaknesses so we can strengthen those. Read More
