I do not believe in a 'monkey see monkey do' style where I simply show the student and have them repeat the concept or technique, but rather a discovery learning approach where I provide the needed support for the student to learn and apply the concepts. My teaching began in the late 1990's as professional musician in the United States Marine Corps teaching new Marine Musicians how to double & triple tongue and play minor scales as well as Greek Modes.I enjoyed the challenge of teaching someone a skill or technique. I studied with a professor for 6 years who was an expert in Dalcroze Eurhythmics which focuses on singing with gestures and dancing out rhythms and melody lines.I love solfege and incorporate it everychance I get when learning a piece.
