With my new beginning students, who don’t have much experience, we start with the fundementals - singing posture, breathing, basic warm ups and their importance, music theory, and simple repertoire. For my more intermediate, advanced students, I will check to see where your fundementals are, and help you blossom from there. My intermediate to advance students will continue to work on breathing, breath control, warm ups, music therory, and will be assigned to contrasting songs at a time. Read More

Learning can be a frustrating journey if the teacher and student don't meet eye to eye. It is important for me to let students learn songs they want to play and tailor to their interests. My teaching style would be a layman term type with a progressive style. Read More

My name is Maria B. and I was in Caracas, Venezuela. I came to the USA to pursue my professional studies and I have lived in NYC since 2011. I grew up in a family of musicians and music teachers and I have been teaching since I was 17. I just won 6th prize in the Vinas competition and a Special Zarzuela prize for the best Zarzuela singer and was one of only six winners who sang in the orchestra concert for the winners at Teatro Liceu de Barcelona. Practice is ideal for each student. I encourage my students in their practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time (1 hour per day). Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their students practice. Taking the time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, or creating a set time for practicing in the students daily routine are good ways to become involved. Read More
