I have been studying music for 25+ years, and I still study music on a daily basis. I play piano, flute, guitar, ukulele, sing, dance, and act. I am very passionate about teaching music and finding the life lessons that music has to offer for each student. I am a very exacting and precise teacher who requires the best from my students, yet I am extremely kind, positive, encouraging, and understanding. Read More

My teaching style is friendly, honest, and positive. I teach students how/what to practice and aid them on their musical journey at whatever starting place they may be. At the first lesson I begin teaching them how to develop an awareness for the concepts/tools we are exploring, so that they can continue growing in their practice at home during the week. I will always be honest with how a student is progressing, and I will also always be encouraging and positive. Read More

Along the way, we'll build the confidence to own the stage and prep for auditions. Our lessons aren't just about hitting the right notes; they're about creating a space where you can truly shine, discover your own style, and fall head over heels in love with music. The grand finale? A showcase where you get to flaunt your newfound skills! Together, we're not just learning; we're crafting a musical journey that's uniquely yours. Read More

I teach speech skills acquisition from a kinesthetic and descriptive basis rather than an arbitrary linguistic standard, in order to respect the individual and focus on what is fundamentally useful to the artistic process— “the ability to adapt”. My role is to add to a student's repertoire of skills, not to diminish the student's sense of what is appropriate or possible on stage. By explicitly addressing both the objective facts of vocal production and the subjective nature of vocal experience in my teaching, I help the students to free themselves to learn in a way that suits the individual situation. In the summer of 2009, after my freshman year of college, started what would become an annual "pop-up" voice studio of 20-30 local students in my hometown who would take weekly lessons for the duration of the summer. Long before graduation, I saw this opportunity as a one to build teaching skills, test my own knowledge, and further instill a love for music and the voice into kids from my home community. Read More

I started teaching in high school and then decided to pursue degrees in performance and music education. At UNH I taught lessons part time for four years. I always put students needs and schedules first and met them either in my studio or at their home. I encourage all of my students to practice at home using techniques that are effective. I engage my students each lesson, ensuring they are constantly improving as well as enjoying their musical experience. It is my duty as an educator to pass my love of music onto my pupils. My students are of all ages and skill levels. I encourage them to enter competitions and recitals, train their ears, learn about music history, and have musical intentions whenever they play. I will help my students to achieve any level of playing. Read More

I covered a little of this in previous paragraphs but I utilize the students ability to learn without the instrument in hand and utilize themselves as the instrument. One example of this is I tea h them to mark time with their feet and subdivide the best into qurters, eighths, etc... and then test them thru aural rhythmic dictation. Also with little children I work into the lesson movement thru pitch high and low and show SOUND thru spatial relationships. Read More
