My teaching experience dates back to my high school years, as I assisted in arranging and directing performances for my high school's Varsity Men's chorus. During my undergraduate years, I was involved in the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities' School of Music University Singers, Chamber Singers, Gospel Choir, and Madrigal Singers; these groups allowed me to serve as a section leader, soloist, and as a conductor for classes on advanced choral conducting. I taught private lessons during my time at college. About a year ago, I started teaching vocal lessons online after instructing family, friends, and students for over two years. And most recently, I've been a choir teacher, conducting a children's choir. We travel around the city to local schools, have recitals, and spread our joy of singing. For beginning Flute students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements.  Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their firset recital performance.  For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
