My method of teaching is that I always start from the theoretical part of every instrument or skill I teach because if they don’t have the background understanding they will be limited in their performances. I motivate by telling them my story how I started with no instrument I used borrow a two octaves keyboard from a choir member just to learn the piano my self I had no internet and no money so if I was able to learn in that condition they can do better.I teach the secrets of becoming a professional musician or music producer which one of them is consistency. This success inspired me to start my own trumpet studio. After I graduated high shool, I attended Las Positas Community College to further pursue my education in the musical realm. I quickly adapted to the new environment where, once again, I was a featured soloist in the band and choir programs. While I was there, I continued grow my brass and singing abilities as well as my studio. My teaching career began as a Visual Caption Consultant for Livermore High School in 2004. Read More

What technique do I use? Nowadays it is fashionable to use the name of a technique as if that was everything. I like to see singing from another point of view, based on the full awareness of the vocal tract. Learn to control the muscles involved in phonation (and relax those who do not!). Achieve a control that allows us to make the sound that we like, in a healthy and pleasant way. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Students are able to select their own music and share their interests with me. Read More

I love music and I love teaching! I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Utah State University and, in 2018, my Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Kansas. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Chamber Singers at both schools where I was able to perform across Utah as well as Dallas, Kansas City, China and Costa Rica. I’ve been part of ensembles on two professional recordings and remain an active performer and director of local groups in Salt Lake County. Read More

For beginning students who are ages 8-13 will first use the Standard of Excellence red book and then they will transfer to the blue book. Intermediate and Advance will use the Foundations for superior performance book. We will start to pick solos that they are able to play and work on them. For Advanced we will also use the selected studies book and the Arban book in our studies. Solos will be picked based on their ability and skill level. Read More

I started teaching privately in 2010 as part of a class assignment, and discovered I really enjoy doing it. I also love teaching and conducting choirs and have done that in various capacities for the past several years. I really believe that singing in choir is the best vocal training for young students. Choral singing and solo singing do not have to be opposite worlds! Both can be done healthily, and I like helping students discover this, or even just discover a new hobby. Read More
