I am a dedicated and passionate Instructor who loves to help other find a passion for music because music, has changed my life. My passion for music started when I was 13 listening and learning rock songs on guitar. Then in Highschool I found my love for classical guitar. My Desire to teach came 8 years ago when I gave a Latin Bass Class at Gerald Veasley's Bass Bootcamp in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and from there I was mentoring young and older musicians who were passionate about learning how to play bass. It's a great feeling to pass on knowledge and wisdom to others based on what I've learned throughout the years as a musician While I am always learning something new everyday. Read More

For beginning students who have no experience on their instrument, I usually spend a fair chunk of time working on basic technique using books like the Essential Elements series or Greg Horne's similar books for folk instruments. I usually combine the book material with other songs/pieces relevant to each student's interests. For more advanced students, I usually find a mix of repetoire relevant to their interests and technical exercises for them to refine and develop technique. Read More

I am very disciplined as a musician and highly creative. I believe in balancing technique and theory with creativity. I love to help my students expand thier talents, and develop their confidence and their own sense of musical authority. Composition is my main forte', but i also believe that theory and technique are important as they provide a musician with a broader pallet to draw from when creating original thier works. Read More

For beginner and intermediate students: I begin with the end; or rather, an end product. I ask questions like: What sort of music inspires you? What music do you love? What music could you not live without? What music do you aspire to make? Which musicians do you look up to? Depending on the answers, we can figure out a song / artist / style to choose as a goal together. Then I personally learn the chord structure and melody. (In the rare case that they are completely directionless, I'll choose a popular song that they can easily listen to on their own.) From there, I start teaching the fundamental techniques of the instrument, and continually refer back to our song, for why the technique is important. Read More
