I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further. Read More

Experienced in teaching, performing, composition and recording, I offer tailor-made lessons to the students' individual wants or needs. Each lesson will be accompanied by written examples of the material gone over in our lessons, in notation or tablature, depending on the students' request. During our first lessons I will assess the students' level of skill and adjust my lesson plan from there, whether this involves basic technique, knowledge of the fretboard, knowledge of theory, music reading or vocabulary. Active Participation: I prioritize active participation during lessons. Rather than passive instruction, I engage students through interactive exercises, discussions, and collaborative activities. This keeps them engaged, encourages critical thinking, and facilitates a deeper grasp of concepts. Progressive Challenges: I believe in challenging students progressively. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, introducing new concepts and techniques while reinforcing what has been learned. This gradual approach ensures that students are continually challenged while still feeling supported. Read More

We learn the music you want to learn when you study with me! The very first lesson I ask the student what he or she is inspired by. We then work towards those songs, in a step by step gradual process. Along the way fundamentals about rhythm, the musical alphabet and theory are taught within the context of the song we are learnning. This makes the lessons moreenjoyable and relatableto the student's deisred outcomes. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements book, as well a basic understanding of music. Once the student has progressed to have a nice grasp of the fundamentals of music, I usually begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I also believe in the importance of listening to as many professional recordings as possible of the instrument the student is taking lessons on. Read More

I'm very goal oriented with my students and flexible with their development. It is important to progress but also to take account of small achivements as much as large ones. Learning music is fun and the process should be fun through and through. Always emphasizing the positive aspects of a students performance and capabilities ensures a pleasant and fun experience for all involved. Read More
