Great musicians play with passion and I love sharing that with students. I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music in String Bass performance. I have always enjoyed exploring new places and meeting new people throughout my performance career. I have played in many regions of the US and in China with the string bass and it has given me a incredibly rewarding career. I love to play classical music, jam in all styles, and lead a rock band every now and then. Read More

I am a passionate instructor who believes that learning to speak this universal language is one of the best ways to bring communities and people together. I graduated from Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver June of 2019 and have been teaching privately for the past two years. Aside from teaching I perform at local venues around Denver with bands of all different genres. I also organize events involving live music, art, and food to promote Denver's local artists and raise awareness for Orpheus Music + Arts Festival: a project I started last year and plan to keep cultivating. My main philosophy is that every student is different and should be treated accordingly. The methods I use are specifically tailored to each student and can be methods that I have learned or developed myself. I start students off by asking them collect ideas about their instrument and the music they enjoy. From that point, I begin to simultaneously teach technique and musicianship in relation to their expressed interests. The key to my teaching method is that I ask difficult questions and then I give the student time to think and develop an answer. Read More

As your teacher, my desire is to pass along my passion for music. Passing along my knowledge and helping you develop you skills is just one way to help you find your own passion for music. My lessons reflect this philosophy. I set realistic goals for every student every week. I have expectations for practice times and progression through my methods; however, I never get too bogged down in this. Read More

I blend the tried-and-true poise of classical technique with holistic approaches to satisfy two purposes: 1) the traditional desire to hone skill with practice and discipline, and 2) the psychological development of the student's independent musicianship. Music without expression is only sport. While technique, exercise, rigor, and history are essential in order to develop the deepest possible understanding of music, I aim to go beyond this to shape the independent expressionism of each student. In any lesson with me the studeent will be working on technique, ear training, learning music, and learning to play with other people(or "jamming"). The "jamming" section always keep the lessons fun and informative, and teach the student how to play music with other people. And as always, I encourage all of my students to bring in music they enjoy, so that we can work on learning it together. Read More
