No single learning path works for all students, it’s about finding and reinforcing your strengths, and empowering you to solve your own problems. As my old cello teacher used to say, “I’m not teaching you how to play the cello, I’m teaching you how to teach yourself how to play the cello.” Providing students with the tools and guidance they need to practice and improve: that’s what I strive to do. I began teaching private lessons while in college, teaching classical, electric and acoustic guitar. For the past 5 years that I have been in Nashville I have been teaching again for the last 2. I have experience in teaching students as young as 5 and as old as 65. There is no age limit on learning! Something I was always told in my lessons both, as a teenager and in college was that it is vastly more important to practice a little each day than to try and cram a marathon session into one day. I have been teaching private lessons on drums, guitar, and bass for a total of 8 years. I started teaching drum lessons when I use to visit back home for the summer during my college years. When I graduated, I started working at a School of Rock in Westchester County, NY. Teaching drums, bass, guitar, and beginner piano. In addition, I also coached and ensemble directed three of the performance groups at the school of rock as well. Read More

Typically, I begin with regimented learning. For guitar students, I use Hal Leonards Guitar Method 1. For voice students, I teach basic breathing exercises and fun, sustainable and memorable warm-ups. From there, I begin to prep them for their first solo performances. I offer studio-wide performance opportunities for new and experienced students to show off their skills! As they progress, I teach to their interests and needs. Some students may be in high school prepping for Solo and Ensemble, or All-State Chorus auditions, or even college auditions. Read More

I am primarily a guitar player from the Hudson Valley in New York, currently living in Nashville, TN. I also play and teach bass guitar! I have worked around the world on 3 different cruise ships; namely Carnival Dream, Princess Dawn and Celebrity Millennium. I have been teaching since around 2011, which is also when I began performing live. I went to Dutchess Community College and SUNY New Paltz universities, where I studied music (mostly jazz, classical, Latin/Brazilian and Metal/Rock) and ultimately graduated with a B.S. in Contemporary Music degree. I love showing students how to work to learn, once they see how work pays off you can't stop them. I have my own Learn To Play Guitar book that I now use as handouts that have vocabulary, open chords, bar chords, inside chords, along with major and relative minor scales. The handouts are in color and done with a graphics program so they're not handwritten. I teach them to play scales with a metronome and they are usually playing 16th notes and counting it out while they play it in the first month. Read More

I began teaching guitar while in high school, and have had students consistently since 2002. During college I taught private guitar lessons both in Grand Rapids and Ypsilanti Michigan. After graduating I begam teaching guitar, audio engineering, and music business at Grand Rapids Community College. From 2009-2016 I was an instructor for a teen music program myself and other members of The Outer Vibe started called "Rock Camp."
