I design my lessons differently for every student. I understand that every human being is different and it is my duty as an educator to adjust my methods to the student's needs. However, I can say that my methods focus on learning music through performance. I teach students how to read rhythms, melodies, how to understand theory, how to write music, all with his/her instrument in hand. This is a method that helps the student to develop more musicality and to become a integral musician, that not only plays an instrument, but also understand music as an entity. Read More

I also began performing in both classical and other styles during this time, something I continue to do today. The reason I continued to understand more about teaching was because I loved to give back what I had learned from the great people in my life. Read More

When teaching, I explain what it is that I do when I play and how to learn this. Just performing would not allow me to share my insights from years of my musical journey. Read More

My first teaching experience comes from the high school years. My teacher asked me to cover him for a couple weeks with beginner students (6-9 years old kids). Then when I graduated from high school and started my Bachelors, I began to work as a part-time teacher. After that, while earning my Master's, I began a teaching assistantship. Read More

In music, students are likely invested in music in their personal lives and therefore, connections can be made to drive concepts home. When music educators understand and nurture the overall learning experience of their students, a well-rounded and holistic educational experience unfolds. Lastly, I believe that student engagement is crucial. If the students are not attentive and involved in the content that is being delivered, it is unlikely they will gain knowledge. Read More
