The most rewarding part of being a teacher is to see your students grow and love their musicianship. Music is a language that is more universal than any other language in the world! Passing on the knowledge and works of composers and artists from yesterday to today. I set realistic goals for my students that are achievable and rewarding. I tend to look on the positive side of each performance and I teach through kindness humor and respect. Read More

I am a self-driven published musician (see Spotify- jackdylan) and instructor from Bridgewater, NJ. Honorably, I attend school pursuing a Fine Arts degree in Classical Music (Cello); I began the Cello in Bridgewater's public school system. I have had the incredible opportunity to teach students of various skill levels and genre case-studies! I am available as your Musika instructor for creative, passionate students. I also teach 1-on-1 sound engineering (music production/sound design); with 8 years of experience in Logic Pro X and professional credits, it is my pleasure to assist determined & aspiring Music PRODUCERS as well :) My musical background consists of a range of: Radiohead, Beck, Bach, Green Day, Kanye West, and more! While I do not subscribe to any particular school of study, such as Suzuki or Schrimer's, I am a firm beleiver in starting off with my students at their current level and pace. Once I have assessed a students's personal ability, there is discussion of what goals/objectives the student wshes to achieve. Once we have decided what direction the student wishes to take with their instrument, I typically use a variety of etudes, chamber, and solo music to offer both a strong technical base along with a freedom of choice. The methods I use always dependents on that student. Everyone learns in different ways making it so important to cater to each students needs. I strive to creating a lesson plan specific for that student. I find by doing so that they are more passionate and progress much faster. I like to focus on learning technique, ear training, and theory through many styles, as well as explore different kinds of music. Read More

My erformances in New York City include Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, Cami Hall, Zankel Hall, The Open Center, The Tibetan House, and Avery Fisher Hall. My work with cello students of various abilities and performance-related injuries has inspired me to develop the Energy Efficient Cello Technique that helped many students play the cello with ease and pain-free. My teaching style is a combination of Suzuki method and traditional method. Having learned with the traditional method, I feel it is vital and extremely important for students to learn to read music from the point at which they start reading books and words, this is typically at age 5. For students under age 5 we begin learning everything by ear, once they start reading we introduce reading notes. I'm passionate about having a parent present for every lesson as it is extremely important that a parent or caretaker learn the material so they can be the teacher at home during the week for practice sessions. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
