I am a firm believer that each and every student with the excitement to learn can succeed. That said, everyone moves at their own pace and responds differently when learning new skills. Therefore, I have learned to adapt to the student and tailor my instruction so that they are comfortable in the learning process. Some students are more quiet than others, but I still encourage my students to ask questions and talk through the problems they encounter. Read More

I ask all of my students to be prepared for their lessons with a notebook and pencil for lesson notes and assignments. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I believe in writing down notes that help students understand what they are learning, exactly what students should practice, and setting goals for their practice and overall progress. Read More

I am a dedicated musician who loves music and likes to teach and share the things I know to others. I graduated from Galileo University in 2007 and I was a formal member of the National Symphony of Guatemala. I studied in the National Conservatory of Music of Guatemala and I began my teaching experience there for a few years as assistant professor. I lived in Rockford Illinois for 4 years and I moved recently to Colorado. Read More

I have been playing cello for 20 years, after starting when I was 10. I was admitted to Jacksonville University at the age of 16 on a full scholarship, and there I pursued a double major in Music Theory Composition, and Cello Performance. I did my graduate work at Denver University, where I studied a variety of non-western musics, including Balinese gamelan, Ghanaian drumming, and Tuvan traditional music. I've had the opportunity to perform hundreds of times in my career in a variety of settings, including solo, chamber music, and orchestra. Read More

I began learning cello with the Suzuki method at age five. I believe Suzuki is a great place to start, as it gives learners a chance to practice specific technical and musical skills before moving on to more challenging material. Suzuki also emphasizes listening to professionals perform pieces you're working on, which I believe is important as it allows you to "absorb" good habits. I believe in breaking down complex musical concepts into bite-sized lessons that include repetition and practice to achieve mastery. Read More

I’m a passionate teacher who is motivated to help my students achieve their own personal goals. If anything, I hope to share and pass on my love of music to my students. I graduated from CCM in 2013 and McGill in 2019 with degrees in cello performance from both schools. Last year, I moved to Colorado to play with the Altius Quartet and am excited to start growing my private studio! Read More
