I am not a teacher who uses specific method books. I use books based on the student's musical preferences or sometimes none at all. A good technique is always emphasized. My area of expertise is Sight Reading. This is an essential aspect of learning to play any instrument. A good sight reader is always able to learn their pieces faster and be better performers. After students have passed through the fundamentals, we will work out of the Rubank intermediate or advanced books for technique development. I have performed in ensembles, for weddings and special events, and provided accompaniment services to other musicians. I opened my clarinet studio while in college. Over the next decade, my studio grew to over 40 students. It was a diverse studio with clarinetists of all levels and ages!
