Performing as part of Cedar Creek Community Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Pit has given me a variety of experiences to inform my teaching. Since then, I have moved to Nashville, earned my Master's Degree from Belmont University in 2014, and have began my professional career as a freelance saxophonist. For every student, I take notes on what we've done and what I want them to work on for the next time, and I send them home with this information. For my beginning students who are children on piano, I typically start with Alfred's Basic piano books. There are so many levels and it helps them understand the basics. With the piano books there are also theory workbooks that give them a chance to think about what they are actually doing when it comes to making music.
