Playing music is awesome, and I love sharing the experience of performance with students. My greatest former teachers made always two things clear - 1) it is important to strive to be better than than you were yesterday, and 2) playing music should be fun! Whether big or small, it is important to me that each student see measurable progress with every lesson. All lessons are tailored to the specific needs and learning style of each individual student. My methods... are really more of "what kind of person" is the student. Usually we start with the sitting position on the instrument, stick control , snare exercises , basic drum beats, development. My teaching style is geared mainly towards going over fundamentals while finding the students interest in music. I encourage my students to listen to as much music as possible, to explore and find what they really enjoy. Playing along to music,or learning songs the student enjoys is a great way to apply the fundamentals, and make them more enjoyable to master. Read More

Music is my passion. Coming from a family of musicians, I was inspired at a young age. At 8 years old, I started playing the drums. In high school and some of college I went on tour with different bands. Read More

I am a public school teacher here in Austin and I have done my best to incorporate music in the classroom. I have taught instruments to my students, recorded an album with student written songs, hosted school wide performances, and visited students at home for personalized music education. I have also introduced and taught adults to instruments they now play professionally. I am currently a music mentor with a local non-profit that brings music to foster care children. Read More

I've studied classical music and music theory since I was 8-years-old and made the 5A Texas All-State Band my junior year of high school. I received a scholarship to study music education at A&M-Commerce University. After two years, I decided to move to San Marcos to perform in the central Texas area. I'm currently studying public relations at Texas State University with a minor in music and perform, on average, 2-3 nights a week. Read More
