I have studied piano privately for almost 10 years. My first experience teaching piano was in high-school, when I taught after school lessons. Since then I've had the opportunity to absorb the teaching methods of many excellent instructors. My teaching approach continues to be influenced by these teachers. For example, I have found that my classical training has helped me approach all genres and styles of music. As I continue to teach and learn in different musical territories, I constantly return to the fundamentals. Read More

To offer my students a safe environment to learn and to experiment, to make mistakes, and to achieve goals is very important to me. I love watching students grow in their confidence, and by feeling safe they will indeed grow in confidence. I am a caring, smiling professional whose primary focus is the benefit of his students. Students will find that materials are taught based on the time they need to learn it. Read More

I first began teaching music lessons as a way to earn extra money for college and I have been teaching ever since. I have been mostly a freelance teacher, but I have substitute taught many times at Musical Beginnings in Vancouver, Washington. My first instrument is drums, though I have also been playing and teaching guitar and ukulele for a long time. In church settings I have often had the opportunity to help younger and less experienced musicians find their place in the praise band or worship team and to learn how to play music as a part of a group. I have taught in one-on-one lessons, large group rehearsals, and everywhere in between. I started my teaching with a group of peers and professors while studying my undergraduate Music Education degree. We worked as a group to teach children ages six through 16 how to play violin/cello and perform as group. We then held a large concert as well as performed with the Sacramento Philharmonic at a Link Up concert. Read More

Hi there, my name is Cory and I teach drums and guitar! I am a musician, a teacher, and an audio engineer, which all greatly contribute to the success and progression I see in my students. I began playing the drums when I was just 10 years old, and they quickly became my first love in the world of playing and creating music. I took private lessons much like what I now offer my students for years until I began playing in bands and progressing on my own. Read More

I place equal emphasis on technical practice, theory, creativity, and musicality. Practice assignments for each week are clear and simple, yet challenging. They usually consist of a few exercises to practice everyday as well as a musical task such as a song to learn, a musician to listen to, or creating your own beat or fill. Read More

My first expirence teaching started back in high school with working indivisually and in group sessions with the drumline. I worked with all sections of the battery (quads, quints, bass drum, snare) on perfecting technique, levels between sections, theory, ect. After High School, and part way through college, I started giving indivisual lessons on the drum set studying a vast variety of genres and techniques Read More
