Lessons could include anything from ear training, solfege, sight reading, song learning, and much more. I have been teaching prviate music lessons in since 2008.  Currently I am only teaching remotely.  I currently teach piano, percussion, voice, theory, conducting, and eartraining.  Several of these will overlap during a student's curriculum over the years.  I also strongly encourage students to listen to music frequently and see live performances when they are able.  I incorporate music history and music theory into many lessons as well. Progress is made at the student's own pace. I try to set goals that are both far-reaching and realistic. Anything is possible if you don't give up too easily! I've used a variety of different lesson books in the past. It's important to note that the Bastien piano books, as well as the Clark, Faber, and Alfred methods all play to different strengths. Since different students respond better to different methods, I try to incorporate some variety which focuses on several concepts: developing ear-training (i.e. picking up melodies and chords from ear) as well as sight-reading, technique, and choosing interesting repertoire. I have performed countless times at the Cairo Jazz Club, Cairo Opera House, as well as many other cultural centers and theaters all over Egypt. Some of the acts I've been a part of include an electro-acoustic duo with synths and drums, an industrial electronic rock band writing songs in English and Arabic. I was also the lead drummer for the AUCeyat Arab music ensemble for many years. It was there with AUCeyat at the American University in Cairo that I met my now wife who is also a tabla player.
