I have always aspired to be a versatile drummer. Growing up I idolized drummers like Steve Gadd, Steve Jordan, Dennis Chambers, and many of the jazz and latin greats. I learned how to play many styles of music along the way including: jazz, soul, funk, rock, pop, blues, salsa, samba, candombe, afro-beat, reggae, symphonic percussion, and the avante garde. My class are designed in two parts: One part is for music theory and the rest time is used to play the instrument. For beginners students, I usually start with combination of James Bastien method and Alfred's Basic for theory session, then based on the instrument choose by the student I complement the class with other book used to play /practice the instrument.
