Music makes life awesome! Sharing my passion and love for music is what I do. I graduated from the Musicians Institute in 2012 with a degree in drum performance. There I was able to immerse myself in music, get hands-on training and learn from world-class instructors. Through the school, I met bandmates, recorded for different artists and learned how to be an educator. My musical journey has brought me to "The Live Music Capitol of the World", Austin, TX. where I make a living playing music professionally. Read More

After gaining a full schedule of students, I decided to initiate semester recitals to allow students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. It is one of my favorite memories as an instructor! The pride on a student's face after they've demonstrated something at which they've worked so hard is the ultimate reward of teaching. After completing my teaching degree at Texas State University and accepting a full-time position, I devoted myself to my new career and no longer taught music lessons. Read More

For beginning and young students, we always start with fundamental concepts - producing a good sound, developing a sense of rhythm and pulse, building music reading skills, and fostering good practice habits. Once these skills have been developed, we progess to working solo repertoire and ensemble music. As student age and ability levels increase, I like to give the student increased input in the direction of study. No matter what, we keep things interesting and engaging, and fun! Read More

For beginning students typically start with Drum Set For Kids by Hal Leonard. In this book after playing lessons each one has a song to play along to with a recording. This makes learning this book fun for studemts. I also like to focus on hand technique and all of the basics for playing Drums. I do include teaching drum rudiments for they are very important to have. For a Drummer they are our dictionary that help puts phrases together. Read More

My first student (back in 2004 ) was a friend and we started lessons....for fun! This fun became a way of living and one of the things that i really love to do. In 2005-2006 i started giving private lessons at first in teenagers or people around 20-25 years old. That was easy because most of the people over 20's the know what they want.So i wanted to try with much younger and much older....and i thing it went pretty much well! Read More

Each student is unique in the way they learn and progress. I come in to each new lesson trying to learn what works best for each student, as well as what each student is trying to gain from the lessons. For example a very young student may just need exposure to the world of music in a very fun learing atmosphere, while an older or more advanced student may want more a more intense lesson. Read More
