For beginners, I have a special system that implements coordination while utilizing proper counting technique. As their understanding of their limbs grows the more I begin to welcome actual musical notation. This system has proven time and time again to tackle the initial issue that coordination imposes. In intermediate to advanced students I stress the importance of technique, quality of sound, coordination, visualization, and relaxation/movement. My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 3 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Im a composer and musician, and I love learning and teaching how music works. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2018 with a Bachelors in Music composition and have been making and teaching music ever since. So knowing my students' musical inclinations is important to my methods, because it gives me a direction in which to apply my instruction. I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy.
