I began teaching privately during the spring of 2018. I taught private orchestral percussion and drum set lessons at my home studio as well as high schools in the area. Since then, I accepted a position as a summer music instructor at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, IL. I have been playing the drums for 16 years and the guitar for 18 years. I started by learning how to play rock beats and songs independetly and eventually started taking lessons from drummer, Martin Dosh of Andrew Bird's live band. Martin, a jazz and hip-hop drummer from Minneapolis taught me how isolation techniques and jazz/swing exercises derived from Hal Leonard's methods book. I am a graduate from SAE institute with an A.A.S Degree in Sound Audio Engineer, which also qualify me to teach DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software like Protools, Ableton and more. I began to teach private lessons when I was in college in the year 2005. I started in a small music shop called McKinney Music where I taught in a back storage room. I taught beginning snare drum, piano and drum set. I had an experience there where a young 7 year old student who didn't practice and it showed. He felt so ashamed he began to cry, but I was able to calm him down and furthermore help him understand the lesson he hadn't practiced. Read More

I want my students to always feel comfortable and to tell me what they want to learn from me. While I was still in high school in 1995, I began giving drum lessons to neighborhood kids. After a while, I realized it was something I could really get into. Before even graduating, I taught 10-12 steady students for quite a long time. Some of the neighborhood kids studied with me until they went to college.
