My role is to make this journey as smooth and efficient as possible by providing the appropriate materials and guidance. I like to get to know the student as I am teaching so I create small breaks to get to know who I am teachign and their interest, so that I may taylor my lessons to the student. For beginning students I like to use essential elements books as a guide for their practice. The most important part of playing music is having fun! Music is about expressing yourself and you shouldn't be stressed out about learning how to do that. Each student has unique strengths and weaknesses and it's very important to learn each student's routines and habits. Going back to my first drum lesson takes us back 8 years into the year of 2012. I started teaching lessons as a casual event in my basement to local kids in my neighborhood. While this was taking place, I was not asking for any money whatsoever. Eventually, I started to build a community of well rounded musicians that were attaining success in my studio.
