My teaching method is different depending on the abilities of each student. For beginning students, I use the Haskell W. Harr Drum Method Books 1 2, Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone, and The All-American Drummer 150 Rudimental Swing solos by Charley Wilcoxin. Once I feel like a student is strong enough on the snare drum, I will then work with them on developing limb independence on the drum set. All of the snare drum method books that I use with my students will eventually be adapted for drum set. Read More

I'm a friendly and passionate instructor who loves working with students of all ages. In 2016, I graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with in Drum Performance. Between 2014-16, I led a funk/fusion and salsa ensemble each consisting of 10-12 members and toured the UK and America's East Coast. In 2016, I did the Independent Artist programme from Musician's Institute where I learnt more about Music Business, Recording and Production, which helped me understand how to make it as a drummer in real life once you attain a certain skill level. The methods that I choose to use with my students depends on what they want to learn. Some students want to just play classical music, some pop, some jazz, some marching band, etc. Therefore I do not use the same teaching methods for all students. With that being said, I do make certain that all of my srudents understand the basic elements of music, i.e., time and key signatures, note values, melody, rhythm, harmony, pitch, intonation (if a wind instrument), form, theme and variation, etc. Read More
