I started teaching at the age of 16 at three different music stores in the Detroit area. My students were often times older than me so I was forced to adapt fast and develop lesson plans that might not be "standard". My lessons focus on technique and musicality so the students can see their skill develop fast, and most of all they can have fun while learning due to my focus on musicality and focusing on the students favorite music to not only play but listen to. Currently I use the Hal Leonard series which I believe is best for beginner and intermediate students. I typically give advanced students a variety of choices that best suites their playing style. It is important to keep the student focused while making lesson time enjoyable as well as educational. Read More

I have been teaching vocalists and instrumentalists around the world for over 40 years. During my 27-year tenure as Assistant Chair of the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I instituted courses for teaching singers all styles of jazz and contemporary music. I teach technique and style interpretation to all ages and levels of proficiency. I have a positive attitude and encourage my students to practice hard to reach their goals. Read More

My method for teaching is helpful for students to become the best musicians they can be. We work on proper technique, different music styles, and being able to create music with the lessons i give them. The most important thing for any musician is to find their own sound. Read More

Hello, my name is Patrick. I am a professional drummer, percussionist and educator in the Boston Metro area. I received a B.A. in History from Loyola University in New Orleans (class of '08). While in New Orleans I studied under the Louisiana Philharmonic's premier timpanist, Jim Atwood. I also studied with New Orleans drumming legends Johnny Vidacovich, Wayne Moreau, and Stanton Moore. Here in Boston I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music. Read More

I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge to students so they will advance in their musical aims. In 1983, I attended The Guitar Institute of Technology and studied privately with Frank Gambale, who formalized the single line "sweep technique" on guitar. While in L.A. I also studied with Ed Mann, longtime Frank Zappa percussionist and teacher at Cal. Arts. In Boston, I became assistant to George Russell on the revision of his 1953 copyrighted and published book "The Lydian Chromatic Concept Of Tonal Organization" released in 2001. Read More

I find that it drives the student to learn the instrument for himself. And as the student wants, more and more, to prove that he can "beat the instrument," he begins to work at it in ways that I can't teach. Learning an instrument is more than showing up for one hour each week. Practice is everything. I feel that my methodology encourages students to take on the instrument head on and learn how to solve problems on their own so that they can practice and improve more quickly. Read More
