I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2016, I graduated from The University of Miami with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in all 48 of the contiguous United States. I've also had the experience of traveling to and performing in 45 different countries. Read More

With multi-stylistic performance experience, I have had the pleasure of working with artists including Wheatus (UK No. 2 Billboard with "Teenage Dirtbag"), Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing), Andrew W.K., Viktor Kirly (NBC The Voice 2015 - Top 24), and Kate Nauta (Hollywood actress in Transporter 2 and the Game Plan). I have performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Brazil and was a member of the 42 date 2015 Wheatus 15th anniversary European tour. With the band, I also appeared on the Ray D'Arcy show, featured live on Ireland's premiere TV network RT One, and headlined the Trebur Open Air Festival (Germany) and Sligo Summer Festival (Ireland), playing for up to 10,000 people. I began my relationship with much when I starting playing drums at age 7. I played in percussion in school bands for a few years then I found the drum set. I found discipline and independence through the drum set, and soon started learning guitar and piano. I attended Berklee College of Music for Contemporary Writing & Production, with a focus in Drumset performance. While at Berklee, I played drumset/percussion in musical theater productions for other Boston colleges (Boston Conservatory, Emerson) and played with local bands in the Boston area. Read More

For beginning students I would start off with form, posture, and technique. These point are extremely important and sometimes skipped over so developing good performance habits right away is essential. I would also start them with the basics of reading treble clef and learning where the notes on the staff translate to on the neck. They would be walking away from their first lesson with a one octave C major scale and some short, repetitive exercises to get them ready for their first song. Read More

For experienced drummers, I've worked with many different styles, soloing and transcriptions; from modern electronic music or metal to jazz or marching band books, every student will have a specific method depending on their own interest. Besides that, all my lessons involved a short part of my studies about Qi-Gong (Chinese Martial art discipline) helping us warm-up and heal possible problems related to overplaying, stress, bad posture, etc. Leading us to be able to meditate while playing. Everyone is different. Some students learn faster by using their ears and some by reading. Both of these skills are clearly important but one will always be weaker. This is where knowing your student and what they're trying to achieve is important. Some students want to learn a simple drumbeat, some want to learn a specific song. I have two goals in my lessons. One: What does the student want to learn? Read More
