I have always loved music and when I was still in elementary school I was given a pair of conga drums after being inspired during a family vacation. Over ten years later I am listening and playing more styles of music on more instruments than I ever thought imaginable when I began. I achieved a Music Education Degree from Montclair State University where the world's musical doors burst open for me. Read More

I educate young and seasoned drummers whether the desire is to play drums as a hobby or play for a living. After attending Berklee College of Music, I attended The Collective School of Music learning from some of the best teachers and Educators in the world. These educators changes my life to say the least. It was then that I made the commitment to not only playing the drums as my means of lively hood, but to also teach and educate beginner, intermediate and advanced professional drummers. Read More

Bobby was raised in a small Illinois town. He was introduced to music at an early age by his multi-instrumentalist father, who would bring him to gigs throughout the region. He began attending Mark O’Connor’s fiddle camps and festivals throughout the Midwest, where he met musicians like Casey Driessen and Noam Pikelny. “They opened me up to what was possible because they were so virtuosic at such a young age too,” Bobby said. The one book I use for my students is Ted Reed's "Progressive Steps to Syncopation For The Modern Drummer". I use this book for my own benefit on a daily basis. Its interpretation and application is limited only by the student's or instructor's imagination. This book is such a great resource for assisting the student in learning basic reading skills. Once the student becomes familiar with recognizing certain rhythmic sequences, It enables them to study and learn from other publications with an increased level of facility. Read More

For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More

My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Read More
