For voice students, I have my own curriculum to help them know how to use their voice in a good way. For piano beginning students I typically start with Piano Adventures method. For Flute students, I start with Rubank Elementary method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. I have song lists that have songs in different styles and levels for the student to choose from, and I also encourage students bringing songs they like to keep the lessons engaging and fun. I began teaching flute privately in 2000, building a flute studio in Buffalo, NY of over 15 members. My students are known for their consistency in rhythm and pitch, along with their love of flute. I encourage all students to enter competitions and attend performances and masterclasses, which motivates students and encourages them to seek their own creative outlets. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I am currently obtaining my Masters of Music degree in Flute Performance from New York University. I began this degree in September 2018 and I anticipate to finish in December of 2019. I began teaching in 2012 when I was awarded the Graduate Assistant position at Western Michigan University. As a G.A., I was responsible for teaching non-music majors saxophone lessons, theory and ear-training, as well as coaching ensembles. I also taught flute and clarinet at Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan to middle school students.
