In the first year, I typically teach basic fundamentals of scales and playing the full range of the instrument along with basic flute literature. Once these are complete I transition into the Anderson studies and more advanced literature. Im Bailee! Im a dedicated and passionate flute player. I am currently a junior at the University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Flute Performance! I was in marching band from 2015-2022 at both my high school and my university. Throughout high school, I regularly did All-Region auditions, State Solo and Ensemble, joined flute choirs, and attended summer camps for my instrument. As for university, I have won scholarships for the Texas Flute Society, have participated and performed at the Texas Flute Society festival, and I am currently playing in the UTA Symphony Orchestra. For over 6 years now, I have been teaching flute within different contexts. Some of the most meaningful teaching experiences I have had have taught me about the unique relationship we each have with the art of music. After a year or two learning the fundamentals, scales and phrasing, then one gets to study the Ferling etudes for region band and a few basic solos for solo and ensemble.
