When teaching older students and adults, I feel it is helpful for me to find out what kinds of music they enjoy listening to, so that they can learn these pieces on their instrument. Once I started college in Buenos Aires(Argentina) in a music composition degree I worked with several masters in a multitude of instruments(violin, flute, trumpet, guitar) which i was able to start teaching and performing live. For beginning students I make sure we know every warm up exercise and stretching exercises for the fingers after explaining the importance of rehearsing properly. We will start getting familiarized with a couple circles until the student fluently knows how to accompany every chord.
