My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons and running sectionals at the conservatory in my hometown. I have been consistently teaching students since either in my home studio, or at different private and public institutions. I have held different faculty positions in colleges in the past 6 years. Music for me has been the one constant in my long trip called life. Since the age of 10 I have played trumpet, then baritone horn. I took my brother's flute and began learning flute solos off of the radio. I've taught lessons on and off for four years now! I took private lessons for years and I taught lessons in high school to other students! Regular lessons were an essential part for me when I was learning how to play flute and to continue to help me develop and grow! Teaching is something that I have always done, in addition to performing. I incorporate fundamentals and musicality with every student, but each student learns differently and has different goals. I do not have a set curriculum, I gear the study to the student, what the student needs and wants to accomplish. I encourage students to perform in some way, either on a solo recital of in a chamber ensemble. I hold annual recitals and online students also participate in recitals, if they choose. Read More
