I began teaching in high school, where I taught lessons to the younger students as well as instructed my jazz band in improvisation lessons. I enjoyed problem solving with my students and figuring out the appropriate exercise or explanation to help them get over a particular hurdle. I am a recent graduate from The Juilliard School. I have performed with orchestras around the Tri-State area, and made my debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2013. I have performed in masterclasses across Europe and America with such teachers as James Galway, Julien Beaudiment, Denis Bouriakov, Marina Piccinini, Philippe Bernold, Jim Walker, Karl-Heinz Schtz, and Jill Felber. By 2008 I had completed the first of my two graduate degrees in music. I encourage student involvement and investment by allowing them to individualize their own lessons. What are the student's goals? Where do they need to be at a certain point in time? All students regardless of goals will learn fundamentals of music theory as well as flute tone and technique. I also encourage flute students to learn a variety of genres, even of those outside of their main focus.
