Up to this point I have taught mostly kids between the ages of 9 and 13. A lot of this experience was through the Community Education Program at Arapahoe Community College. I was hired there as a teacher the summer after I graduated from the school. The other students have been private instruction. I am a travelling instructor, meaning I teach at students houses and not in a studio. I am a diverse guitarist who is advanced on both the electric guitar and nylon string acoustic. Read More

I believe in positive affirmation and goal setting. My goal with all students is that they enjoy learning, become self-motivated to practice, and consider their musical abilities as a gift which they can choose to share with others whenever they feel comfortable to do so. I have experience using a variety of method books and can easily recommend appropriate materials. I also encourage students to share with me and allow me to help them learn their favorite music, as well, even if that involves writing it out with or for them. Read More

I first find out what songs and styles of music my students are interested in, then determine what methods are best for my students to fulfill their musical goals. Some students have no experience reading music while others may be quite adept. Many of my students have been absolute beginners and it is a great joy to see them develop their skills and their passion! At all levels, I emphasize music fundamentals and developing the ability to read music (especially for guitarists!). Read More

This brings about a well-rounded and open-minded perspective on both writing and performing in all genres. Read More

I am very passionate about music and I love to share music through teaching. I truly love to see people just enjoy and have fun while playing music. I started playing guitar when I was 11 years old and music has been a huge part of my life ever since. In 2012, I graduated from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA, where I lived and worked as a musician and music instructor for 6 years before moving to Denver, CO in November 2016. Read More

My teaching style is based around having fun while learning important techniques. Some students will pick up a technique or a piece of music in one week, while another might struggle with the same piece for a whole month, and that's okay! I will never force a student to move on from something they feel less than great about, and with that ideology, I believe students gain the confidence that is so vital to the creative process of music making.
