I'm make sure to include ways to properly develop your ability to utilize music theory training from an early stage. Throughout lessons and into the skill level of moderate to intermediate, I'll use sound clips as examples to fully ensure that you as the student are grasping the concepts and can hear how to improve and approach creating musical notes using the tools that exist. For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs.
