I taught students for about 2 years, and once I graduated High School, I moved to Flagstaff to get my degree. I currently teach music part-time at two Montessori elementary schools in the Southeast Valley which include after-school music classes and private lessons. I am the Worship Pastor at RPFChurch in Tempe, AZ where I play guitar and direct the worship team. I love to share my passion for music with every student and encourage them to enjoy playing their chosen instrument. I teach out of several methods, depending on the desires and needs of each individual student. I do make sure all students have a basic understanding of note reading, rhythm, chord building, right hand techniques and various styles. We learn to strum, play arpeggios and improvise...everything the student needs to feel comfortable playing and performing. I believe that my students should have high expectations and have fun while completing goals. I make sure lessons are fun and progressive. I hold my students to high expectations so when they meet their goal they actually kill two birds with one stone (ex: figuring out a difficult passage in school music while progressing in technique exercises).
