Instruments: Guitar
For beginning students, I would like to start with knowing exactly where they are at with guitar; how to hold it, how to tune it, how strum it. Once the student understands those fundamentals, I like to start on open chords with easy fingerings (usually learning chords is very exciting since you can hear what you are accomplishing). With that, I would like to get to know the student and understand what the student wants out of the lessons; what they like to listen to, what they want to learn, what is difficult for them, etc. Read More

I teach music as a way of life. To be able to inspire, motivate and enrich a student's life through music has limitless possibilites. Strengthening one's self-esteem and dynamic expression through music can tranform one's life. Everyone has the potential to create. It takes willingness and courage to go beyond the musical note. My commitment as a teacher is to give students the opportunity to express themselves through music in their own unique way. Learning to play a musical instrument can be fun! Read More

I am passionate about students not only exploring musical styles but really understanding every aspect of the music they are learning, including the history of the musical style, the composers and the more well known performers. It is important to me that each student comprehends the details of each new piece they learn including, the specific fingering required, the details of the rhythms, dynamics and composer's directions and markings. I also encourage every student to explore various musical styles, even when they claim to have a special favorite, this way their music world is expanded. Read More

I began taking piano lessons at age 8, competed in concerto competitions in high school, and continued my studies at ASU. As a child, I told myself that I never wanted to become a piano teacher, but a friend in college asked me for lessons, and my love for teaching blossomed from there! I've taught at music academies, group lessons, trio & duo lessons, but I prefer one-on-one lessons. I find that it's important to build a positive rapport with my students, making their experience fun & educational. Read More

I love to share my passion for music with every student and encourage them to enjoy playing their chosen instrument. I am also involved in reforming music education by writing methods and curriculum which make music fun, accessible and relevant to all ages. Read More

My experience in teaching began 15 years ago in working with church choirs and bands, and eventually becoming a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2016-2018 in the Musical Theatre Opera department at Arizona State University. I have also taught at Childsplay in Tempe, AZ as a Music Director. As a piano performer, my experience has truly crossed all genres, ranging from performing in high-level jazz ensembles such as the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra to performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 as piano soloist with symphony orchestra. Instruments: Trombone Euphonium Music
I like to maintain a fun atmosphere in my lessons. Especially for younger students, there will always be moments of frustration, so encouragement is key. The trombone is a very difficult instrument, especially for beginners, but with the right encouragement and dedication any student can thrive. Once a student reaches a certain level or age, I believe if they want to grow on trombone they will. I will give them more independence to set their own goals and choose their own repertoire.
