I was taught piano lessons at age 9 but lost contact with the teacher after a couple of years because we moved. From middle school on I joined the school band and stuck with it until the end of high school. Sometime in high school I picked up the piano again and have been playing it ever since. At IADT I took some keyboarding classes and I really enjoyed the experience; it made me play the piano like never before and inspired me to want to teach the instrument myself. Read More

I am interested in knowing what student is looking to accomplish in music and introduce ways and exercises that will help him get where he wants to get. Music is free flowing and so should be methods of teaching. Practice is key to success in this discipline, and it takes commitment and patience to become one with your instrument. Read More

I teach my students to use their ears to guide them through learning. I give them the ability to experiment and work outside the box. In my experience, this has lead to far greater musicianship rather than strictly focusing on sheet music. On the other hand, music theory plays a role as well. I teach music theory in regards to approaching the guitar. Once the student has understanding of this approach they will realize they will be able to apply this not only to guitar but too many other instruments and songwriting as well. Read More

I have taught in a variety of settings including children through teens and adults, and children with disabilities, both online and in person, one-on-one and in groups. I started in 2014. If the student enjoys the lesson and feels positive, they'll be less hesitant and excel! Read More
