Practice makes permanent. It doesn't always make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect, and therefore I encourage students to always make consistent time to practice and perfect their craft. Consistent practice with good technique and attention to detail is better than hours and hours of lazy, uninspired practice. Therefore, I try to set new challenges each week that are fresh and exciting which encourage active, perfect practice. I want to make sure students are eager to learn, so I employ teaching techniques that make learning fun. Read More

For new students, I like to get to know them, what kind of music they like, where they're currently at, and where they want to be. From here, I can point them in the right direction on how to get where they want to be. Lessons usually consist of learning repertoire the students want to learn, showing techniques and providing exercises related to the kind of music they like and their favorite players, show them whats going on within the pieces they're learning on a theoretical level, giving tips on composition, ear training, etc. Read More

I fell in love with teaching vocal technique, performance skills, and songwriting to a wide age range of students--as young as 6 and as old at 75! Read More
