I am a very passionate and motivated instructor who truly enjoys sharing my love and curiosity of music with everyone. In 2016, I graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Jazz Studies. Some of the the highlights of my musical career have been studying under legendary Pittsburgh jazz guitarist, Joe Negri, and world renowned jazz pianist, Geri Allen at University of Pittsburgh. I am also an active performer throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and New York with my own jazz, funk, and jam group, The Clock Reads and have shared the stage with acts such as Poogie Bell, The Werks, Consider the Source, Robert Randolph. Upon graduation from college, I worked with autistic support students within Pittsburgh Public schools. I secured my music teaching position working in the same district shortly there after. I taught grades kindergarten through eighth. I taught general music along with instrumental music and choir. I also coached middle school cross country runners for several seasons. I have been a national competition finalist two times and have been recognized many times for my performances and hard work at FSU. Lessons NEED to be enjoyable, almost memorable experience. My philosophy is: as a teacher, the student should want to have another lesson the following week. Meaning, having something say a scale, 3 notes, a chord, or almost a whole song really understanding and sticks to the mind. I'm not the sort of teacher who just shows a student where to place their fingers to play a song without understanding what they're doing.
