My teaching experience started many years ago with a few students who were interested in learning jazz and improvisational music. I have taught group classes and one on one now for 25 years. I have much experience working with beginner and young students making their first attempts at playing an instrument as well as players already proficient at the guitar who want to brach out and learn new things. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2012 with a major in English and a heavy emphasis on music. I have studied African drumming, electronic music, classical music and jazz. I simply want my students to come into their first lesson wanting to learn more about their instrument and music. I want them to leave their final lesson feeling the same way, but at a more advanced level than when they first arrived. They don't need to be professional level when they leave, but I want them to feel as though they learned some valuable things as my student and want to either continue learning elsewhere or feel content about what they have learned and are ready to move on to other things.
