Instruments: Piano Voice
I am a voice and piano teacher who especially loves working with children. I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelor's degree in Music, and I have been singing since I was a young child. I have worked with children of all ages, teaching various subjects, but music is my absolute favorite thing to teach. I love performing in recitals and events and watching my students develop a love for performance as well. Read More
Instruments: Trombone
I assess the student's long-term goals in learning the trombone and then set a reasonable series of smaller goals based on their progress. A student can move as quickly as they like as long as they put in the work to advance. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium French Horn Tuba
It is rewarding to see my students grow as individual musicians. I, along with each student, will set high yet realistic goals for their musical journey. Each student will take part in their progress through practice and/or research between lessons. I will tailor each lesson based on the students wants, likes, and need by first understanding the student as an individual. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I learned very quickly the methods I was taught by worked well with most but it's a skill that is linked very close to psychology. Every teacher says "every student is different" but in singing it's at another level. Many students came to me with past teachers who told them they were pitchy and their ear was the problem when pitch issues for vocalists is a sound placement issue, it's rarely ever hearing associated. Instruments: Piano Violin Viola Fiddle Music Keyboard
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and want to continue to play the violin not just as a hobby! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and knowing the strength behind private lessons as opposed to group lessons only. The student is more likely to progress if they are consistently practicing and have private lessons with their teacher to develop technique and skill in a one-on-one learning environment. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola
My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 11 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students ever since. I am a public schools orchestra director who has taught in 2 school distrcits in New Jersey and now will be teaching in the Orange County Public Schools. I always emphasize regular practice on a consistent schedule as it helps the student progress and gain a passion for music and the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
I always start with the fundamentals of sound production along with the musical fundamentals such as scales and sight-reading that go along with performance. I am extremely interested in all aspects of the biomechanics of trumpet playing, from breathing to embouchure to tone production to technique. Because of my intensive study of brass pedagogy I am very capable of teaching euphonium/baritone horn, trombone, tuba, and French horn. I try to make bad trumpet players better, and good trumpet players great. Read More
