For younger students I start with showcasing what they can achieve with practice and perseverance. I do that by showing my playing. Then we start with the chromatic scale so the fingers can get use to the strings and moving around the fretboard. Same with drums but we start with easy hits and patterns. I have played violin since I was in 3rd grade. I got a cello and played that in middle school, as well as violin. In 8th grade, I auditioned for and joined the high school orchestra. I was also a member of the Gulf Coast Youth Orchestra. I have often attended various universities (I hold 3 degrees), and worked many different types of jobs, but through all of this I still enjoyed teaching violin on the side. Read More

After college I played professionally in Nashville. Later I spent 3 years traveling full-time through out the United States playing trumpet in several different music groups. Following that I moved back to Nashville and played as a free-lance musician, including as a recording studio musician and contractor.
