for beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard books. This communicates the basics of the instrument very well. I also incorporate scales and chords. After the student develops his or her reading, kinesthetic, technique, and ear I give them a standard classical piece. For Adults, I evaluate their level and goals at the lesson. Different learning styles, whether it be visual, aural, verbal, or physical, are present in all classrooms. Unfortunately, teachers do not always cater to every students needs. I believe that differentiate should be a huge part of every learning environment and plan to include multiple learning styles in my teaching environment to best provide for the student. I began learning how to play in middle school, when I was about 13 years old. Guitar Hero Rock Band became very popular, and it sparked my interest in playing an instrument. I attended a few lessons, but grew disheartened as I didn't grasp some of the fundamentals of playing.
