I also encourage them to enter as many competitions as they can, as well as auditioning for as many shows across the country as they can, so that they can be noticed and people can see what they can do! I also had the opportunity to perform with a small jazz combo and a large big band on a number of occasions, as well as singing with a mixed a capella ensemble in which I sang many of todays popular songs rearranged for acapella vocal ensembles. I have taught 2 college age males who had little to no musical experience whatsoever.
