Instruments: Guitar Voice Ukulele Music
My teaching style is a little eclectic. I like explaining everything I do because students should know why they're doing certain things. I work with each student to figure out why they're taking voice lessons and figure out accomplishments that they want to achieve. I'm tired of voice teachers only teaching classical music, especially when a student says they want something different. Classical music is important, especially in the music sphere, but singing and playing are not all about that. Read More

I began playing guitar when I was 15, and it became an immediate obsession. Starting with rock and roll with bands like Nirvana and Sublime, I garnered a deep love for classic rock, specifically the bands Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Doors among many others. Early on, it became apparent that I wanted to pursue a career in music, and while still in high school, I began learning classical guitar, and jazz. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Music
I graduated from Kansas State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Theatre. Over the past 5 years I have had 7 beginner piano students and 10 voice students of varying levels. I have taught ages 5-10 for piano and 11-20 for voice. I currently teach online via FaceTime/Zoom, am available to go to students homes or host them in my studio. I love teaching the next generation of musicians to find their voice and confidence in their instrument so that they can share their gifts with others and edify themselves.. Read More

For the young students who are just starting out in vocal lessons I like to recommend starting with the proper breathing techniques and moving in to singing from the diaphragm and more experienced techniques will follow after that. After we have touched on those techniques we will move in to the performance portion of the lessons and how to connect with the song and then being able to portray the message of the song clearly and efficiently to the audience so that they can connect to the emotions that are coming from the song. Instruments: Piano
The method I use in my studio is individually tailored to each student and the student's goal. I have found the the encouragement of each student's goals the best way to inspire them to learn. Seeing my students discover new and exciting realizations is the most rewarding part of teaching piano, and if I can impart some of the understanding I have to help them grow creatively then I have succeeded. Instruments: Voice
I love to see my students grow and develop a deeper passion for music. It is important that the student makes progress at his or her own pace. I encourage setting realistic goals in their practice and in our lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps keep the student motivated to become a better musician, and makes students eager to learn more. Finding what works for the student is important to me because not everyone learns the same. Read More
